Used Power Plant 42 MW

In 1975 this plant was taken into operation for the first time, consisting of
a high pressure steam boiler and a counter pressure steam turbine with electrical generator. In the following years it was only operated for very
short periods, with an overall running time of approximately 30'000 hours.

The power plant, built with the currently highest industrial high pressure
steam boiler in Switzerland, consists of highly valuable components.
All elements have been carefully dismantled by specialists and are currently stored in a warehouse.

This turbine with a high, medium and low pressure part is operated on a counter pressure system.

All the plant's main components were dismantled and will be revised and temporarily stored in a warehouse.

The steam turbine and the electrical generator were dismantled first: in a spectacular effort taking several hours, the generator's
85 tons in weight were loaded with special lifting gear onto a
heavy vehicle truck.

As a further step the high pressure steam boiler had to be
dismantled.

The steam boiler with more than 400 tons of weight, consisting of
a complex piping system and various additional equipment, had
been removed of insulation and was taken apart into big, still transportable pieces. The heavy dismantled elements were
lifted out of the building through a specially constructed roof opening by using a 500 ton heavy weight crane, and then loaded onto a heavy vehicle truck for transportation.
